If left untreated, high blood pressure can lead to heart attacks, strokes, and kidney failure. You can take Bilosar 50 mg / 12.5 mg tablet with or without food. The dose will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. Try to take it at the same time each day. It is important that you keep taking this medicine until your doctor tells you to. It contains a diuretic (water pill) and will make you urinate more. It is best not to take this medicine within four hours of going to bed. Use this medicine regularly to get the most benefit from it, even when you are feeling well. High blood pressure usually has no symptoms and if you stop taking it, your risk of a heart attack or stroke may increase.
Benefits Bilosar 50 mg / 12.5 mg tablet is a combination of two medicines, namely losartan and chlorthalidone. It is generally used when a medicine alone is not effective in controlling your blood pressure. Losartan works by relaxing and widening your blood vessels so that your blood can flow more easily. This will lower your blood pressure. Chlorthalidone is known as a diuretic (water pill) that increases urine output, thereby lowering blood pressure. When your blood pressure is under control, you have a lower risk of having a heart attack, stroke, or kidney problems. The medicine must be taken regularly as prescribed to be effective. You won't usually get any direct benefit from taking this medicine, but it does work over the long term to keep you healthy.
